Thursday, June 12th, 1958: Zerin Runs Hit String to 32 Straight Games
Dogs catcher José Zerin was beaming today after his team had beaten Owensboro 7-5 at Yachts Ballpark. He had contributed 3 hits to the victory and extended his hitting streak to 32 games.

"Life is good when the hits keep coming like they have in the last few weeks. I hope I can keep it up a little while longer."
J. Zerin grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.

Zerin is presently batting .440 with 2 home runs, 34 runs scored and 35 RBIs. His OBP is .459.

Wednesday, June 11th, 1958: Zerin Has 31-Game Hitting Streak
Today José Zerin went 3-for-3 in the New Albany Dogs 7-0 victory over the Owensboro Showboats. This extended his hitting streak to 31 games. Zerin declined to comment for the media immediately after the game.
J. Zerin singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 4th and hit an RBI single in the 6th.

So far this year Zerin is batting .436 with 2 home runs, 34 RBIs and 33 runs scored.

Wednesday, June 11th, 1958: New Albany Blanks Showboats, Hackwell Wins
It was a masterful game today for Roger Hackwell. The Dogs hurler pitched shutout ball against the Owensboro Showboats en route to a 7-0 win at Yachts Ballpark. In the game Hackwell rang up 4 strikeouts, walked 3 and allowed 2 hits.

This year Hackwell has compiled a 7-5 record with a 3.87 ERA in 14 starts.
