He went to the plate 8 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Caravels to a 9-6 victory over the Fort Knox Gold. He certainly had their number at the plate in this record-making 5-8 performance.
The sweet swinging first baseman told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."
The skipper of the Gold wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that."
H. Dennis flied out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, flied out in the 8th, hit an RBI double in the 9th, struck out in the 11th, doubled in the 13th and hit a three-run home run off F. Cavazos in the 15th.
