Wednesday, September 17th, 1958: Georges on Fire: 5-5 for New London
It was a good day all around. New London whipped Concord 23-13 and Jean-Marie Georges displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day at Field of the Widowmakers.

"Some days, lady luck is on your side," he modestly told BNN reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Jean-Marie is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have."

The 22-year-old second baseman for the Widowmakers collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats to get his name in the record book.

J. Georges doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 2nd, walked in the 3rd, hit a three-run double in the 4th, walked in the 5th, doubled in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off D. Woodes in the 7th.

This season Georges is batting .363 with 3 home runs.
