All week long Chet Outlaw made the highlight reels and made headlines -- his name and face were everywhere. So it was no surprise to anyone when he was chosen the Miller's Player of the Week for his standout performance.
Outlaw put up a solid set of stats, compiling a .458 average (11-24) and contributing 1 home run and 2 RBIs to claim the honor.
Outlaw is swinging at a .339 pace on the year with 14 home runs, 45 RBIs and 48 runs scored. He has played in 62 games.

 | Thursday, June 12th, 1958: 2-Game Suspensions for Kakinomoto-Hsing Fight
Today the league office handed out 2-game suspensions to Kijuro Kakinomoto of the Haymakers and Shuan-yan Hsing of the Spartans for their roles in a benches-clearing skirmish at Liberty Municipal Stadium yesterday.
The league commissioner said in the statement to both organizations, "This league does not condone fighting and aggressive conduct on the field, thus we had to take action to discourage this behavior in the future."
Currently Kakinomoto has no home runs and a .250 batting average.
This season Hsing has compiled a 14-1 record with a 2.69 ERA in 20 starts.

 | Saturday, June 7th, 1958: Tillman and Bagby Suspended 3 Games
Arwin Tillman of Portsmouth and Christie Bagby of Pittsburgh have been sanctioned by the league office for causing the ruckus at Downtown Ballpark yesterday. Both players have been given 3-game suspensions for instigating the fight and subsequent free-for-all.
In 1958 Tillman is hitting .303, batted in 39 runs with 7 home runs and 42 runs scored.
This year Bagby has a 4-1 mark in 8 starts with a 4.25 ERA. He has given up 40 hits in 53 innings, struck out 52 and issued 36 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .214 batting average against him.
