Breaking News Monday, June 30th, 1958: Helen Runs Hit String to 20 Straight Games The Rome Caesars suffered a 9-7 setback today at the hands of the Troy Trojans at Caesar Ballpark, but their hot-hitting center fielder Warburton Helen went 1-for-4 and stretched his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. W. Helen flied out in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and flied out in the 7th. In 1958 Helen is hitting .411, batted in 41 runs with 2 home runs and 93 runs scored. Sunday, June 15th, 1958: Caesars Thibault Will Miss Season Medical officials from the Rome Caesars reported that the club's 20-year-old reliever, Shelby Thibault, suffered a herniated disc in yesterday's matchup against the Saratoga Springs Sunshine while throwing a pitch. Thibault is expected to miss 7-8 months of action. This season Thibault has recorded no saves with a 5-5 record. He's made no relief appearances, tossed 97.1 innings while fanning 96 with a 6.01 ERA. Sunday, June 8th, 1958: Rome Loses Chaven, Will Miss Season Rome starting pitcher Jesús Chaven has a torn bicep muscle, suffered while throwing a pitch. He's expected to be out for 8 months.
