Saturday, July 5th, 1958: Dorane at His Best, Blanks Harrisburg Álex Dorane kept Harrisburg hitters off balance all game long as the Lancaster pitcher blanked the Pirates 3-0. Tuesday, July 1st, 1958: MacEwen Grabs PBA Best Batter Award for June Even though he is a newcomer to Pennsylvania Baseball Association, John MacEwen put up some good numbers in June and brought home the PBA Batter of the Month trophy. He was one of Harrisburg's offensive leaders with a .351 average in 27 games. He also racked up 6 home runs, 26 RBIs and 21 runs scored.
