He finished his outstanding season with a .411 batting average, 168 hits, 11 home runs, 83 RBIs, .442 OBP and 67 runs scored. Monday, July 28th, 1958: South's Best Batter Named Vincent Smith of the Montgomery Spin Doctors culminated a sensational week of play by being named the South Player of the Week. He rocked the opposition with a .538 batting average, 14 hits in 26 at-bats, no home runs and 9 RBIs while scoring 1 times. Posting a .406 batting average to date, Smith has 11 home runs and 83 RBIs.
