| Breaking News |  | Saturday, July 26th, 1958: Zimmerman Gone for Season in Richmond
The season is apparently over for Bill Zimmerman. The Richmond Tobacconists medical staff informed the club that the starting pitcher will be out at least 7 months with a herniated disc. Zimmerman was hurt in the game against Harrisonburg while throwing a pitch. The doctors did not think he would recover prior to the end of the season.
This year Zimmerman has compiled a 4-9 mark with a 4.85 ERA in 20 starts.

 | Thursday, July 17th, 1958: Brewster Struts Stuff in Richmond Win
Rupert Brewster dominated Richmond with a brilliant 3-hit shutout in the Schooners 1-0 triumph at Schooners Ballpark. The Virginia Beach hurler fanned 13 and walked 1 in the game.
This year Brewster has made 27 starts, thrown 199.1 innings, fanned 178 batters and walked 61. His won-lost record is 12-10 with a 4.15 ERA.

 | Saturday, July 5th, 1958: Richmond's Halliburton Sidelined for Season
The season is finished for Innes Halliburton of the Richmond Tobacconists. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Tobacconists center fielder suffered a torn abdominal muscle while running the bases in a recent game against the Newport News Cut Throats. Team doctors said it would take at least 4-5 months to heal.
Halliburton is hitting at a .300 mark this season. His stats show 12 home runs, 53 RBIs and 57 runs scored. He has played 80 games for the Tobacconists.
