The Newport News manager said he could tell right away it was going to be a good game for Incle. "Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," he said. "He threw a lot of strikes."

When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Schooners had a 8-2 victory.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 26-year-old right fielder said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."
D. Maravilla walked in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and hit a two-run home run off E. Dare in the 9th.

Both the Mountaineers and Flames were defending their turf. A few punches were thrown -- fortunately very few landed -- there was more wrestling than fighting. When the umpires sorted everything out, Harrisonburg's Bill Orr and Fairfax's Guillaume Desrochers were ejected from the game.
Today the league office suspended Orr and Desrochers for 5 games each.
Currently Orr has 2 home runs and a .240 batting average.
This year Desrochers has made 21 starts, thrown 156 innings, fanned 106 batters and walked 70. His won-lost record is 11-7 with a 3.63 ERA. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 46-66, .411 PCT | | Position in Division | 6th, 22.0 GB | | Record at home | 25-31, .446 PCT | | Record on the road | 21-35, .375 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 3-7, .300 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 13-19, .406 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 17-23, .425 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 29-43, .403 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 5-5, .500 PCT | | Record in April | 8-20, .286 PCT | | Record in May | 14-12, .538 PCT | | Record in June | 9-19, .321 PCT | | Record in July | 14-15, .483 PCT | | Record in August | 1-0, 1.000 PCT |
