Zerin hit for a .409 average while collecting 99 hits, 8 doubles, no triples, 2 home runs, 37 RBIs and scoring 39 times.

Matthe McElveen of the Kenova Caravels had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Outstanding Hitter Award for 1958.
The 24-year-old first baseman put up a .386 average and a .469 on-base percentage, piling up 97 hits, 33 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs, 56 RBIs and 50 runs scored.

 | Tuesday, July 15th, 1958: Barnab Top Choice, Wins Outstanding Pitcher Award
The Evansville clubhouse staff referred to him as "the kid" this season. Next year António Barnab will have to have a new nickname. He earned it after winning the 1958 Downstream Outstanding Pitcher Award.
Barnab made 16 starts this year, winning 9 and losing 4. He threw 117.1 innings, fanned 117, allowed 111 hits and 25 walks, while holding opposing teams to a .241 average as he logged an impressive 3.22 ERA.
