Saturday, August 23rd, 1958: Brimble Tops Best Batter List
Don Brimble of the Lancaster Churns had a fine season this year and today he accepted the PBA Hitter of the Year for 1958.

The 23-year-old first baseman put up a .307 average and a .418 on-base percentage, piling up 115 hits, 21 doubles, 3 triples, 22 home runs, 85 RBIs and 65 runs scored.
Friday, August 22nd, 1958: 1958 PBA PBA Pitcher of the Year Chosen
The PBA Pitcher of the Year for 1958 has been presented and the Pennsylvania Baseball Association winner is Raúl Espinosa of Lancaster.

"It's always nice to receive an award like this," said Espinosa. "I just hope I can improve on my performance next year and be in the running again," the Churns star told reporters.

Espinosa excelled with an impressive 13-8 record in 25 starts. In 184.2 innings he yielded 186 hits and 39 walks, while striking out 115 and compiling a fine 3.36 ERA.
