Tuesday, January 31st, 1967: Baseball-starved fans got some hope today as the Ligue Magnifique publicly released the 1967 schedule. The preseason officially kicks off today and spring training and exhibition games will be taking place in the run-up to Opening Day. General managers will be tweaking their rosters right up until the first pitch of the regular season is thrown.

Tuesday, August 30th, 1966: When it came to hitting the baseball, Curt Trainor had few peers in the Ligue Magnifique this year. The gifted right fielder for Shawinigan tagged opposing pitchers for a .305 average and was voted the Outstanding Hitter Award for 1966. Included in his season stats were 147 hits, 28 doubles, 6 triples, 14 home runs, 76 runs scored and 112 RBIs.

 | Paradis Tops Ligue Magnifique Pitchers
Monday, August 29th, 1966: The Rimouski Loggers have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making.
It's John Paradis, this year's Ligue Magnifique Outstanding Pitcher Award selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance.
Paradis compiled a 11-5 record in 26 starts, tallied 119 strikeouts in 137 innings and recorded a 3.09 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .243 batting average against him.
