Sunday, February 26th, 1967: Christie Bagby's baseball career is hanging in the balance. After extensive rehabilitation to repair a torn rotator cuff, disaster happened. The Fredericton reliever tripped over an outfield tarpaulin while chasing a foul ball prior to the game and re-injured himself, causing what his doctors say is "catastrophic damage". Speaking with reporters, his manager said, "Christie is in a state of disbelief. He has come so far in his recovery and this was total shock. A quirky accident may have cost him his career."
