The Ice catcher managed to stay there long enough to earn the West Empire State Batter of the Year for 1966.
He assaulted WL pitchers for a .354 batting average, 101 hits, 9 home runs and 63 RBIs, while scoring 67 times. |  | EL's Premier Hitter, Andreu of Albany Friday, August 12th, 1966: Santiago Andreu of the Albany Capitals had a fine season this year and today he accepted the Empire State Batter of the Year for 1966.
