PBA News: Pre-Season Begins
Tuesday, January 31st, 1967: The Pennsylvania Baseball Association preseason begins today with the release of the 1967 schedule. Teams will be headed out for spring training shortly and will have to determine the makeup of their regular season rosters before Opening Day.
Mounfield Tops Best Batter List
Sunday, August 21st, 1966: Bates Mounfield of the Scranton Quakers had a fine season this year and today he accepted the PBA Hitter of the Year for 1966.

The 25-year-old first baseman put up a .327 average and a .369 on-base percentage, piling up 150 hits, 31 doubles, 6 triples, 32 home runs, 93 RBIs and 76 runs scored.
Keystones Argelio, PBA Pitcher of the Year Winner
Saturday, August 20th, 1966: António Argelio of the Pittsburgh Keystones outdid his pitching peers this year and has been honored with the 1966 Pennsylvania Baseball Association PBA Pitcher of the Year.

During his remarkable year Argelio posted a 11-5 record in 28 starts. In 185 innings he yielded 165 hits and 59 walks while striking out 131 and compiling a fine 3.31 ERA.
