Enrique Basaldua Signs Extension with Providence
Wednesday, February 8th, 1967: BNN has confirmed that the Steamrollers and Enrique Basaldua have come to terms on a $8,200,000 package that will keep the catcher in town for another 2 years.

Team officials are set to officially announce the deal at a mid-morning press conference tomorrow.

Basaldua is hitting .321 lifetime with 812 hits, 72 doubles, 5 triples, 127 home runs and 499 RBIs to date. He has scored 520 runs and stolen 0 bases.
Veteran Re-Signs with Steamrollers
Wednesday, February 8th, 1967: Team officials triumphantly announced that the Steamrollers and superstar second baseman Cristián Parra have closed a deal that keeps the 31-year-old in a Providence uniform for another 3 years.

Parra will earn $45,000,000 as part of the settlement.

In his career Parra has played in 1007 games with a .309 batting average. Among his 1263 hits are 251 doubles, 13 triples and 288 home runs. He also has scored 881 runs and driven in 947 runs.
